LNG World News Staff For illustration purposes only (Image courtesy of Tokyo Electric Power)Japanese imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) rose 4.4 percent in August when compared to the same month a year ago, according to the provisional data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance.Japan, the world’s top LNG buyer, imported 7.57 million tonnes of LNG last month compared to 7.25 million tonnes in August 2017, the data shows.The value of August LNG imports was about $3.49 billion, a rise of 28.6 percent on year.The country’s coal imports for power generation dropped by 11.3 percent to 11.24 million tonnes last month.To remind, Japan’s LNG imports declined in June and they were flat in July as the country’s power utilities are bringing online more nuclear reactors that had been shut in the wake of the Fukushima atomic disaster in 2011.However, Japan has been hit by various extreme weather since the beginning of July with record-breaking heat boosting demand for cooling. The country has also experienced devastating floods and landslides.

The decision was taken in the Annual General Meeting of the association which was held at the AOA Conference Hall in the city.The meeting also constituted new executive committee with Hem Das as president and Durga Boro as secretary.Talking to The Sentinel the new secretary Durga Boro today said, “A series of resolution were taken in the meeting with aim to develop football in Assam. We need good programme in the grass root level and also sufficient number of good coaches. We will give special thrust in these two areas.”The association will also introduce player of the year and coach of the year awards from the next year and will also felicitate one former international footballer in the programme.The meeting feels, constitute of one football association in each district is now very essential as there was instance that many people, who didn’t have proper knowledge of the game, had become the member of the Assam Football Association. It is one of the factors that hinder the development of football in the State. A team from the association will soon meet with the AFA officials and place the request in this regard.Meanwhile AAFPA will organize 3-4 charity matches in the coming months to raise fund for the family members of former footballer Apurba Phukan who recently died in a road accident. Boro said, “Apurba was from our fraternity and it would be nice if we do something for his family. Officials ruled the death of millionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein a suicide on Friday.The autopsy cited his official cause of death as suicide by hanging, according to The New York City Medical Examiner.Epstein was being held in the federal facility while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.Correctional officers found Epstein unconscious last Saturday and took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.He was found just days after he was taken off suicide watch.Since Epstein was charged for sex trafficking, the case has been a constant source of shocking revelations, and his death was no different.Conspiracy theories after his death went viral almost immediately.An outrageously popular theory is that the Clintons orchestrated his murder.Suspicion of foul-play intensified after an initial autopsy revealed Epstein sustained multiple broken bones in his neck. Before his death, speculation arose that Epstein who never married or had children spread his DNA by impregnating his victims.A Florida-based genealogical company is now looking into claims made by those who could be related to the disgraced financier.The autopsy report seemingly answers questions that were fueling speculation about his death.However, it remains unclear whether the conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein’s life and death will ever be put to rest.
