Infrastructure fund for 16 Kalibo villages pushed

KALIBO, Aklan – The Sangguniang Bayan(SB) here is pushing for a P1-million additional allocation for each of the 16villages in the town.    “The people of Kalibo are happy withthe opening of the new circumferential road in Barangay Tigayon but the sameshould be connected to other municipal and barangay roads not only for goodtransportation of goods but an indication of a progressive town in becoming acity,” it added. The Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo, through a resolution, is pushing for a P1-million additional allocation for each of the 16 villages in the town for the infrastructure projects. “The vision of Kalibo is to create avibrant, livable and greener city. One indication of a vibrant city is the easymovement of people and goods. This needs good transportation through goodroads,” the resolution said. The appeal was developed after the SBnoted that the concentration of the infrastructures is seen within theboundaries of Barangay Poblacion in Kalibo.  The SB resolution also empowers thebarangays to decide for their respective infrastructure projects using the saidamount.
